the Straight Up Sinners...

Website | MySpace

The Straight Up Sinners packaged together a unique brand of music. The problem is, it is difficult to categorize their style. But, when you peel the label off and slap it on them, you see that there’s much more. A list of ingredients, directions for use, and even a couple of warnings.

Straight Up Sinners

The brand of music that the Straight Up Sinners plays is more than a sound. It’s a feeling. Capturing a timeless era in music, when blues and gospel were combined and gave birth to the R&B and Soul classics that we have all come to know and love. By bringing together foot stomping rhythms of gospel and blues, mixed with stories about love, cheating hearts, and hard times, many back in the day referred to the sound as “sinner music”. The Straight Up Sinners have taken that label, “sinner music”, and created their own unique approach to the R&B/Soul classics derived from such artists as: Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Koko Taylor, Dusty Springfield and many more. The Straight Up Sinners draw from their own experiences and influences that are as diverse as their individual backgrounds.

There is no doubt about it, Straight Up Sinners put on a great show. With a perfect blend of covers and original tunes, it’s got a little bit of everything. All of their influences pop out. Rock, Jazz, R&B, Funk. What do you call a band like that? Blues? R&B? Soul? Maybe. Straight Up Sinners music? Definitely!

The Michael Robinson Band...

Website

Michael RobinsonThis is is not your granddaddy's blues. Michael Robinson's brand of music is something he calls "Roadhouse Blues & Roots Rock" -- a blend of retro rock and contemporary blues. With catchy tunes, clever lyrics and gutsy vocals, it all adds up to a rockin' good time.

In addition to original songs that are passionate, intense and unique, the live show offers a mix of fun, uptempo covers. So whether you've got the top down on your car, or you're dancing on the bar, Michael Robinson has music you'll love.

3 Guys Playin' the Blues...

Website

3 Guys Playin' the Blues started as a trio in July of 1999. 3 Guys Playin' the Blues is Chester Neville on vocals and guitar, 3 Guys Playin' the BluesDarrell Jones on drums, Jon Hougard on bass and vocals, Will Tabar on Saxophone and vocals and Ron Tan on keyboards. Yes, we know, there are 5 guys in 3 Guys Playin' the Blues, but that's another story.

The sound of 3 Guys Playin' the Blues can best be described as "Smooth Blues," with a small scoop of jazz thrown in for extra flavor.

Diesel Finger...

MySpace

Diesel Finger is a band that combines the elements of metal, country and punk into a musical style that they call “Red Neck Metal.” They craft their music using the KISS principle (keep it simple stupid) or in other words hard, fast and to the point. Diesel Finger's music attacks your most basic emotions, accompanied by lyrics that plum the depths of the darker side of human nature and pokes fun at them.

Local legends... The Double Doors!

Website

Back in 1994 Nate Butler got together with his buddy Jeffrey Fetters and decided to start up a Doors Tribute band. In the original 1994 line up Butler gathered June Beard to play drums, Rob Darby to play bass, the one and only Craig VonBerg on piano, Jeffrey Fetters on guitar and Nate Butler as Jim Morrison. Nate Butler and Friends present the Doors played a few sell out shows at Club Fred in Fresno and then the band took a break.

After much convincing, Jeffrey was able to get Nate Butler's interest in resurrecting the band. They gathered June Beard to play drums again but this time they were lucky enough to have Mark Michel of Let's Go Bowling to play bass guitar and Darren Fletcher of Let's Go Bowling to play keyboards. This group of musicians have been playing this music together for some time now and definitely recreate a live Doors performance better then any other group! Come out and check this out!
